Until I choose to forget
I will be part of here
write to me and remedy my absence
so i can relive roots that lay here
Until my heart stops reminding me
I will feel part of here
lay a place at this table
so i can eat comfortably amongst new found family
Until I can still talk with tongue of mothers past
I will hold this conversation open
forgive this treachery in times of anger
so I can recognise soft spoken familiarity
Until my dreams refuse to belong in this place
I will hold faith that I can return without disgrace
Offer a prayer to the earth, the wind and the sea
So I can hear the nuanced call of home
